Phew, it's been a busy couple of weeks! And next week on 20th November, it will be the launch night of Vegan Manchester, a new social group for vegans, their friends, and the vegan curious, to be held at Soup Kitchen in the city's Northern Quarter, with drinks and food from 6.30pm onwards. Our group on Facebook is growing rapidly, and the numbers on our events page for the night itself seem to be fast increasing, too!
Vegan Manchester is a group that I set up together with my friend, Sophia Fox, after we decided there needed to be a social group in the region that was a little more dynamic (as opposed to more of a fixed location support group) - moving around the North West to embrace everything on offer for vegans here, as well as engage local businesses to offer more to vegans - as we are definitely a growing movement!
We're intending to have different events on different times and days, at different places. We want to give people who can't make a regular date a chance to come along, and keep things fresh and moving. There is so much on offer in the North West for vegans, so we hope to get around to everything at some point.
We're really pleased with how things are looking so far. The launch night is but a few days away, and Soup Kitchen has arranged a special menu for us. We're awaiting confirmation on the main meals, but I can reveal that the soups will be the following:
Roasted tomato and lentil soup
Sweet potato and coconut milk soup
Beetroot and fennel soup
And even better, there is a vegan black pudding roll served with red cabbage and walnut slaw on offer as a starter too!!!!! YUMMY!!!!!!!
So. There we have it. A new social group for the vegan-friendly in Manchester and the north west, launching next week on Wednesday 20th November at Soup Kitchen in the Northern Quarter. Lots of incredible, reasonable priced food on offer. New people to meet. Vegan wine and beer to drink. What more could you ask for?
Be there, or be very square.
