I've just read this fab post by Stephanie Quilao, who I've mentioned before on Chocolate and Beyond since she writes the cool blog Back in Skinny Jeans.
Stephanie talks about creating a theme for the year, rather than individual resolutions, and also suggest in a previous post to consider not having any resolutions that involve your body. I couldn't agree more!
So I think for me, my theme will be Positive Attitude.
I'd like to look at applying this to the way I think about myself, others, my health, and my body and mind. I'm happy to accept small changes will do, and will contribute to bigger changes eventually. I'm going to start by trying to loosen up on the perfectionist streak I have about 'learning to do' intuitive eating.
What is your theme going to be?
Hello Andrea! Great blog by the way, I've been finding you inspirational and I'm going on a "Beyond Chocolate" journey myself because of it.
I think my resolution for 2007 is "Express Emotions". I have problems dealing with all emotions and I've always been an anxious person, a quality that I've learned to hide very well; to see me you never think that I spend most of my time fretting! Infact most of my friends say that they are intimidated by by confidence. It just goes to show.
I know that I stuff my emotions down with food but I also don't know how to cope with them or even express them or get rid of them- so that will be my goal for 2007, learn how to emote! Wish me luck.

Hi Beakerella! Glad my blog has been inspirational to you and lots of luck for your theme of 'Express Emotions'.
Do you have a plan on how you are going to begin to acknowledge and be more open about emotions, rather than hide them down?
It does sound like you're already pretty much on the way to becoming more expressive from the self-perceptiveness you show in your comment.

Great theme Andrea. Mine is "Live Vibrantly" and besides the new colorful socks, I have started eating foods that make me feel vibrant. I have also started cutting back on sugar and sugary things because I find that those foods don't make me feel that vibrant. I get the sugar high and then the crash. It's amazing how having a theme is much easier to go by than having a specific list of resolutions. The theme approach let's you have choices.
