I have neglected my site over the festive period, I have to admit, and as I'm away on holiday tomorrow for a week I thought I'd better just post a quickie to show I'm still alive and eating. Eating a lot, as it happens.
I'm not sure I have been altogether as mindful of my eating over the last week or so as I intended to be, and I have most definitely been stuffing chocolates and peanuts into my mouth when I'm not hungry for them. As well as glugging on copious amounts of Bailey's and other such drinks of creamy gorgeousness.
And now I'm about to go on holiday. Oh dear, what can I say? I am not going to diet when I get back, so will my girth just forever thicken or will I eventually get the hang of things for once and all?
In all honesty, I may not have pigged out quite as much as I would normally have done, but then again, I've spent some time now eating the foods I wouldn't normally eat, previous to the Christmas run-up. However, I definitely haven't been stopping at the point of satiety - I have been quite knowingly getting past it out of sheer delight at the foods I'm eating.
And in reference to my previous post - I forgot, there are actually some foods that we don't have year round that we do have at Christmas. Pierogi.
These are a yummy Polish dumpling stuffed with cheese and potato or mince and rice (there are all kinds but these are my Granny's standard) and it takes her two days to make enough for the family Christmas Eve dinner - so they are a special occasion food.
Needless to say, I'm not the only one guilty of overeating them - and this was the meal I did decide I was going to being physically groaning because of. They do sometimes spring up on birthdays, but you have to get 'em while you can, generally.
Maybe next year I might be more in tune.
Happy new year, anyhow, and more from me in 2007.
Its christmas :)!!!!!!!!!!
