There is still curry in my fridge – fabulous. A delicious king prawn madras.
Even though we went for a curry on Saturday night, we still decided to get a take-away in on Sunday night, to have with my sister and her partner. Curry mad, we are. But no longer does it have to be one of my 'downfall foods'.
I only had a third of it, that was enough – then I saved the rest, had another third yesterday, and have a third left for today! I think I could survive on curry alone, if I had to, or even if I didn’t have to.
If eating out at an Indian, I've usually felt pretty guilty afterwards – lots of greasy ghee, cream, fluffy naans and egg fried pilau rice. However, really taking some time to learn about what makes me feel comfortable or not – how much food to physically eat – is very helpful.
I found this fantastic Madras Shrimp recipe, which I’m going to make (see picture above!). Also, I think the rest of the site this comes from definitely deserves some special attention. The Naughty Curry blog looks like a fab idea from the girls who created it and there are some absolutely fantastic looking recipes.
Learning to enjoy food PROPERLY and not be frightened of it is wonderful – fingers crossed that I can keep this up!
Weightwatchers have a great low-fat curry cookbook but in general advise that if you are serious about losing weight, you should avoid Indian takeaway at all costs, there are a couple of tandoori dishes that may be 'okay' but most are chock-full of so much satuarated fat, your 'daily allowance' would be gone in two mouthfuls.
It's like saying you can go for a Mexican, so long as you don't have any guacemole, cheese, tortilla chips...etc :)

Well I went for a curry last night. I'm not sure if it was naughty or not. But the naan bread, chips, poppadoms and onion bhajis definitely were.

It's miserable going for a meal and avoiding everything that everyone else is having, isn't it? My curry lasted me three meals last week, and that was because I only had as much as made me satisfied. The first night I stuffed up more on poppadoms and bhajis definitely, then had plenty of curry to eat the next two days!
