It's a Friday evening and I could be out there having a life, but instead I'm at home, at my PC and working. Not to worry - my evening has been a delight, as I've just shared a PUDZ Heavenly Chocolate Pudding with my son (begrudgingly, I'll admit, but there was plenty of it so I don't mind really). And my my, what an utter spiral into decadent pleasure the eating part of that little experience was!
I'd already eaten the PUDZ with my eyes as it tipped out of its box and into the dish - the underside of it looks a bit boring (as the underside of anything does, really), but as soon as the gooey chocolate sauce all started spilling out and flowing over the pudding like hot chocolate lava, I knew I was going to enjoy myself.

A colleague of mine is organising a wonderful competition in Manchester to find the region's best amateur pudding chef - and the prize includes a weekend away baking puddings at The Pudding Club, which sounds great! I'm considering entering - but am rubbish at making desserts so I'm not so sure!
Fancy it? Here are all the details:
Do you bake THE BEST BUNS, COOK CRACKING CAKES OR ARE YOUR FLANS FABULOUS?
THE HUNT IS ON TO FIND THE BEST AMATEUR PUDDING CHEF IN THE NORTH-WEST!
Are your desserts more delicious than James Martin's? Would Delia be envious of your perfect puddings? If you think your desserts are divine PUDZ wants to hear from you!

Yum yum! I got sent a tub of Whittard's new Aztec Chilli Hot Chocolate that I've been meaning to write about for a while, after consuming most of it over Christmas, and I have to say, it is very dee-lish!
I've tried chilli-flavoured chocolate before but never in drink form. This is a particularly pleasant concoction that tingles on the tongue and in the throat nicely, and has just about the right degree of bitter-sweet (less bitter, not too sweet, and I get a bit sick with overly-sweet).

I just updated my 'Chocolate Shop' on the site here, and picked out a few things from Amazon that were of particular chocolately interest!
My favourite thing has got to be this Double Chocolate Fountain, which I'm considering putting on my list to Santa this year, which means I'll also need some yummy fondue chocolate to go with it.
There is also this Essential Chocolate Cookbook which looks like it has some amazing recipes. I only actually started cooking with chocolate again since stopping dieting (which reminds me, there is a Peri-Peri Chocolate Truffles recipe on my site that I still need to get around to making!).

What can be more wonderful to welcome me home than a postal delivery of the most delightful fresh chocolates I've ever tasted?! On Monday morning my post arrived and I saw a little brown package lying there, having forgotten that I was waiting for a handmade chocolate delivery from Chocolala. When I opened it to see the little silver tin containing my cocoa treats I really was as excited as a child in a sweet shop!
Chocolala has very recently launched and is the UK's first and only maker of fresh chocolates to carry the Fairtrade mark - and yes, you can really tell the difference. They need to be eaten within 14 days (call that a problem?) as they are so fresh,

Well hey, I'm always up for any story which positively promotes the goodness of chocolate and I was alerted to this BBC news feature by Rob, another devoted chocolate fiend. According to this report, a mouthful of dark chocolate each day could help reduce blood pressure, the effect of which has been attributed to the chemical plant substances known as flavanols which are contained in the cocoa.
While the British Heart Foundation are trying to say 'no way, too much fat and sugar', there is emphasis from the researchers that asking people to consume a couple of chunks of chocolate a day was far easier than encouraging "complex behavioural changes" to help them reduce their blood pressure.

Calling all chocolate lovers! The town of Versoix near Geneva is to host it's third delectably indulgent Geneva Chocolate Festival, on 17th March this year. Seeing as I will be in South Africa at this point, I'll unfortunately not be able to make it, although I'm not sure how much I could have sampled the delights anymore, anyway (bloody candida!).
However, if you're interested in it - it sounds wonderful.
