Yes, yet another blog I've discovered and this one appears to be based on Beyond Chocolate (although please correct me if I'm wrong, Gemma!). Scales are for fish has a great title, don't you think? Gemma has been on the intuitive eating journey for a couple of months, she says, and her latest post on exercise talks about how our attitude to it can change once we're not doing it for reasons of weight loss or calorie burning (which is pretty futile anyway).
Exercise definitely shouldn't be something you HAVE to do, it should be something you enjoy, and of course, the ladies behind Beyond Chocolate, Sophie Boss and Audrey Boss, like to focus on the idea of movement rather than exercise.
I personally walk for about an hour a day with the dog, and apart from when I'm waiting for her to finish her sniffs or come back from chasing squirrels, we move at a reasonable pace. When the whim takes me, I also go for an early morning swim - though this hasn't been for a while. I'm planning on a swim tomorrow morning though.
I also occasionally jog but I find it's not very good for my joints, and my perception is that exercise should be enjoyable or good for you, and if it's potentially harming your body it's probably best to stay clear. I love jogging for stress relief (it's excellent for when you get tight shoulders as it really burns up adrenaline) but when I do it more regularly, I find my knees suffer.
However, next week I'm meeting up with a personal trainer for a health check - something that has come about through work and I shall reveal all soon.

I love Gemma's blog! I think it wins the award for best blog title. :)

What a shock I got what I saw your post! Thanks very much, I am blushing!! And yes, my blog is based on Beyond Chocolate although I do use advice from other resources too. Unfortunately I can't claim to have made up the title, it's my favourite saying and it comes from something I saw on the AnyBody website.
I have to make a confession though - yours was the first blog I read which talked about giving up dieting (actually, probably the first blog I ever read full stop!). I followed a link on the Beyond Chocolate website to one of your articles, which linked to here. I didn't post at the time though as I wasn't sure whether to (being a complete blog newbie!), but I read through all your posts and recognised a lot of what you wrote. Through your blog I found links to others and eventually to the Peaches & Cream forum, and without this way of communicating with people on the same journey I think I would have given up! So a big thank you to you!!

Gemma that is so wonderful to hear! I'm so glad you were inspired to begin your journey through this blog! It shows that through sharing my own thoughts and processes, it can really make an impact and help others find their own way, and that is a fantastic privilege. Please feel free to comment as often as you like, I'd love to hear more of your thoughts here!
