Did you know, diets don't work?!
With summer coming up, it is surely the second 'peak' diet season after the post-Christmas peak. And I hear friends telling me they are going to shed their pounds doing it this way or that way, and that THIS time they really will stick to it.
Heard it all before? Oh yes, and I've said it myself many a time. Never again though. Since I stopped dieting, food just doesn't seem to have the same 'grip' on me as it used to. It takes time, practice and patience to get to this point, let me assure you, but it does happen, eventually.
There can never be a quick-fix solution to losing weight and my philosophy is that is that the longer it takes you to drop pounds and find your natural weight, the more likely it is that you will stay there once reached. Rapid weight loss is no weight loss, ultimately, and could actually be the reason behind an even heavier weight in the future.
It is around 7 months ago since I made the choice to stop dieting and in terms of my attitude to enjoying food and seeing it in a new light, it has been the best 7 months I've ever had!

My mother and sister are going to Jenny Craig for the fourth time and told me this time they are really going to stick at it. I feel so sad for them because I worry it will only damage there self esteem more.
they are not ready for intuitive eating and think it's a load of crock

Some of my friends think I've gone mad! It's their journey though. All we can do is let them know there is another path, but we can't push them down it.
